THE Area Action Plan for Fleetwood and Thornton – which will shape the futute of new housing developments in the area – is now out for consultation prior to its submission to the Secretary of State.
Once adopted by the borough council, it will form part of Wyre's Local Development Framework - meaning that it will be an important consideration in any decision on planning applications in the area.
The aim of the AAP is to provide a clear vision and planning framework for the area as a whole, in order to guide investment and support planning decisions.
The AAP will look ahead over the next 15 to 20 years and will establish a comprehensive vision and planning framework for the area.
Wyre residents are being given a say in how their local communities should develop during the next two decades.
Local opinions are being sought by planners at Wyre Borough Council who have been tasked by the Government to study the future use of land in the area.
Wyre Council has already undertaken Stage One: Issues and Options and Stage Two: Preferred Options consultations.
Following on from comments and further investigation, the submission document has now been produced as a basis for consultation. The council is now consulting on the AAP submission document for a six week period due to end at 9am on Monday April 28.
