THE family of a 35 year old man who tragically died in a road traffic collision in Poulton have paid tribute to a "hard working and dedicated'' family man.
Robbie McKendrick died when his Vauxhall Astra was involved in a head on collision with an HGV on Amounderness Way at 11pm on Tuesday 15 July.
The driver of the HGV escaped uninjured, but sadly Mr McKendrick, from Carleton, died at the scene.
Mr McKendrick was a specialist registrar in anaesthetics working at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
His wife Jess said: "Robbie was an incredibly loving husband and father who lived life to the full. He particularly enjoyed playing rugby for Thornton Cleveleys rugby club as well as spending quality time with both family and friends.
"Robbie had two sons, Wilbur, two, and Fred, 11 months. He will also be greatly missed by his parents Mac and Babs McKendrick and his brother Andy.
"I would like to thank the people from all over the country who have sent messages of support. I would also personally like to thank PCs Adam Lloyd, Kirsty Hodgson and Ian Tyrrell for all their support during this terrible ordeal.
"Robbie will be desperately missed by all of us."
