A FREE sporting summer is being held for youngsters in part of Lancashire.

The Trysport schemes, run during the school holidays by Wyre Council, start on July 28 and will offer five weeks of sporting activity at two venues.

At Preesall Sports Hall, in Sandy Lane, multi-sports sessions will be run according to age, with eight to 11-year-olds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and older children on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Friday night football sessions for 12 to 16-year-olds will continue throughout the summer. Sessions in trampolining, street dance and beach sports for eight to 16-year-olds will also be held at Fleetwood Sports College where football and multi-sports schemes are also run.

Call Ashley Hackett on 01253 887379 to book a place.

A parental consent form will have to be signed and this can be downloaded from the council's website at www.wyrebc.gov.uk.
