WYRE residents can now check at the click of a mouse what time their local pub is allowed to open or when live music can be played.

Thanks to a user-friendly addition to Wyre Borough Council's website residents can also see at a glance such features as:
- which restaurants in the borough can serve them a pint without a table meal
- which caravan sites are licensed.
- where to find the nearest animal boarding kennel for your pet.
- which taxi firms in the borough are correctly licensed.
The new register gives details of the individual licenses and conditions issued to various premises throughout the borough, including pubs, clubs, restaurants.
A similar facility is also available for taxis, caravan sites, animal welfare and the Gambling Act.
Previously it was only possible to view the licensing register on the council website in its entirety, which made it difficult to find the details of a specific premises.
Malcolm Reece, Health & Safety and Licensing Manager for Wyre Borough Council, said: " We have been concerned for some time that online information about the licences we issue has not been readily available in a user-friendly way.
"We hope this new facility makes it far easier for residents to find out about the hours a premises is allowed to open and what measures a licensee is obliged to take."
The online register can be accessed from the Licensing Services page at www.wyrebc.gov.uk.
