THUGS have shot two cats and a dog in Wyre.
Police are investigating the shooting of the family pets in three separate incidents in St Michael’s.

Tex, a cat owned by Lesley Park, had to have a leg amputated after she was shot with an air rifle.

The other animals, a dog and a cat, all shot within the space of two weeks, were not as seriously injured.

Now, PC Simon Jones, PCSO Geoff Mole, Insp Dave Vickers and an RSPCA inspector are urgently discussing plans for an operation to catch the culprits.

PC Jones said it was a “worrying trend” and reassured residents it was being taken very seriously.

Police have already carried out letter-drops and door-to-door enquiries. They are also working with Neighbourhood Watch and are urging residents to report anyone acting suspiciously.

Anyone with information should contact PC Jones or PCSO Mole on (01995) 607869.
