POULTON Library has closed for two months.

The Blackpool Old Road branch is closed for refurbishment and improvement of facilities as part of a libraries regeneration programme by Lancashire County Council.

Work will see the library transformed into a bright, attractive, flexible space, allowing improved access to all services.

Work will also include provision of a public toilet and a small meeting space.

A library spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience but when the branch re-opens, users will feel the benefit of an improved facility."

Nearest libraries are: Thornton Library on Victoria Road East; Cleveleys Library on Rossall Road;Fleetwood Library on North Albert Street.

During the closure, library customers will be able to use their membership cards at any other branches in Lancashire.

Books and other loaned items can be returned or renewed at any Lancashire County Council library, regardless of where they were borrowed from, or by telephoning 0845 050 1083.
