A FIRE broke out at a Poulton pub earlier today.
Firefighters attended a chimney blaze at The River Wyre, on Breck Road.

The pub did not have to be evacuated, although the fire brigade was in attendance for about 90 minutes.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said a fire which had been lit in the open fire at the pub caused sparks to fall out of the flue and ignite some timbers.

But it was described as a "small fire" and it was "business as usual" at the pub.
