A THORNTON youngster has been 'knighted' for her bravery, courage and giving help to others.
Shannon Leach, 11, was nominated by family and friends to receive a Knight in Shining Armour award from King Arthur at Camelot Theme Park, Charnock Richard.
Shannon joined other Lancashire youngsters who had achieved everything from battling through major heart surgery to looking after sick relatives.
She was nominated for helping to care for her sister, Violet, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
Other nominees include Kian Holt, three, from Blackpool, who has been in and out of hospital after suffering heart complications since he was nine days old. His four-year-old sister, Kelice, was also rewarded for helping her family through difficult times.
Sean Deakin, nine, also from Blackpool, acted like a true knight in shining armour while coming to terms with his grandma's death, while nine-year-old Mia Marley, of South Shore, lost her mum a couple of months ago.
King Arthur presented the youngsters with an honorary knighthood and a framed certificate, as well as a 2008 family season pass to the theme park.
