Continental Market Returns to Poulton
A TASTE of Europe returns to the streets of Poulton this weekend.
The continental market which proved a huge success last year is back once again for the forthcoming bank holiday, bringing with it a feast of hand-made gifts and delicious produce from across the Channel.
Stalls will be set up in Market Square and behind the Teanlowe Centre from Friday 2 May to Monday 5 May and many of the traders have come direct from Europe to make it a truly international event.
Organisers - Poulton Market Town Partnership with support from Wyre Borough Council - are looking forward to a boost in trade as a result. Partnership chairman Paul Mellor said: "The town centre was alive with activity when we held these continental markets last year and we are delighted that it is becoming something of a regular occurrence.
"Poulton is a lively shopping centre which makes it an ideal for setting for this kind of international event. Coupled with the many specialist shops, restaurants and bars we can already boast about , we're confident it will bring a lot of people into the town this bank holiday."
