Youngsters learn about life with the Royal Marines
Some 30 members of the elite force, whose training centre is at Lympstone, Devon, were in the town to meet the public on Wednesday and Thursday.
They were invited by Wyre’s Armed Forces Champion Terry Rogers to enable students and members of the public to find out more about their work and how to join. The town’s military guests set up besides the Model Yacht Lake each day, between 9am and 3pm, where they over saw climbing frame sessions, lazer weapon activities and water-based Alpha craft events.
Coun Rogers, who is also chairman of Fleetwood Town Council, said: “This was a chance for local people to meet them and especially for young people and students to find out more about them.”
