A Wyre woman who was trusted to care for vulnerable people stole more than £80,000 from them.

Preston Magistrates’ Court heard how Zoe Coates, 41, of Lancaster Road, Garstang, helped herself to clients’ savings.

She has admitted six counts of theft which relate to a period between June 2008 and March 2015.

In one case she stole more than £50,000 from a couple.

She also took £4,078 from the man in the couple and £87.22 from the woman over separate periods.

A further £21,692 was taken from another woman over a two year period.

A third woman also fell prey when Coates stole £3,553 from her.

This victim had £6,024 stolen.

Coates, who lives with her partner, will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on July 14.
