Two dogs have been killed after a fire broke out in a house in Preesall.
Firefighters spent two hours tackling the blaze on Head Dyke Lane last night, after being called out at 6.15pm.
A young man, thought to be in his late teens, was found suffering from smoke inhalation and later taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire, which started in the kitchen, is still unclear but it is not thought to be suspicious.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: “Two teams with breathing apparatus entered the building and found a man suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
“Unfortunately, it was also discovered that two dogs had died in the fire.
“We sent the fire and emergency support vehicle from Preston, which is manned by Red Cross volunteers.
“Investigations into the fire are ongoing but there is nothing to suggest it was deliberate.”
