Motorcyclist injured after being struck by car on Amounderness Way near Skippool

A motorcyclist and a car collided near Skippool, resulting in heavy traffic in the area.

Police were called to a collision on Amounderness Way, between Norcross roundabout and the River Wyre pub, at around 12.10pm on Friday (October 28).

The crash involved a motorcycle and a car, with the motorcyclist suffering “minor injuries”.

The road was closed in both directions following the incident as emergency services made the scene safe.

Heavy traffic was building in the area following the closure, with motorists reporting delays of up to an hour.

“Stuck in traffic on Amounderness Way. Anyone know if there’s been an accident,” one person asked.

One resident responded: “My son has just gone to Poulton and he said there is an accident between River Wyre and Norcross roundabout.”

Another added: “I was stuck in it for over an hour. It's cleared now."

“Just hope whoever it was is ok”.

North West Ambulance Service has been approached for more information.
