Live at Deaduns this Saturday are Southort based five-piece band Fagash Lil, who will performing for the fourth time at the Lord Street venue.
As the name suggests, there is a strong female influence in the band’s classic rock sound.
Babs Arthur, who also plays piano, and Deb Rimmer provide the vocal power of the band while Ian Hudson on the bass and Jack Wade on drums comprise the rhythm section and Steve Norris completes the line-up on guitar and vocals.
Babs, Deb and Steve are brother and sister, a relationship that they believe contributed to the band’s longevity.
The band were formed in 2001 and have gigged regularly throughout the North West since.
They have occasionally provided support for visitors to their home town, among them Mick Taylor, now performing with his own band after his spell in the Rolling Stones.
Fagash Lil have made two CDs of their own material How it Really Is and
Both earned enough interest to win airplay on Radio merseyside and Rock FM.
They have also released a selection from their live performances on CD last year.
As well as some of their own material, Saturday’s audience can look forward to hearning the band’s versions of Rock Classics by Free, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Cream, Jethro, Tull, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynrd and the sensational Alex Harvey Band.
Admission to the gig at the Royal Oak is free and the music starts around 9.30pm.
