The crows in Fleetwood had to be extra wary when they flew near Farmer Parrs this week!

Lurking around the farm were more than 20 scarecrows, in all shapes and sizes.

They were part of the farm’s annual scarecrow competition, which takes place in July.

Entries came not only from Fleetwood but from Blackpool and other parts of Lancashire.

The overall winners were the West View Dream Scheme team, from Fleetwood, who created a charming elderly couple and also a colourful clown.

Their prize was a free day out at Farmer Parrs later this year.

Sue MacNeill, who helps runs the West View Dream Scheme, said: “The children involved really put a lot of effort into the scarecrows, so it was wonderful to win.”

Competition organiser Sophie Wells, of Farmer Parrs, said: “All the entries were excellent but the West View scarecrows just had a little extra attention to detail.”
