Rotary members’ joy at fund-raising effort
Dozens of members of the Rotary Club of Lytham met at the Clifton Arms Hotel to celebrate the achievement as part of the group’s charter night.
Member Jeffrey Horsfield said the group had enjoyed a successful period, with local charities including Fylde Scouts, Park View and Home-Start benefitting.

“Wherever possible costs are eliminated, minimised, absorbed by members or waived through the goodwill of various persons and organisations with which we collaborate.
“We raise funds for charitable causes, some small and local, some national and international, in the past two years we have donated more than £22,000.”
The club was founded in 1947 and has around 40 active members, including some honorary members.

Jeffrey added: “We meet every Thursday at the Clifton Arms Hotel and are always interested in new members joining the group.
“Our members are all male and mostly retired, with members including past mayors, aldermen, current local and county councillors and the deputy mayor.”
