A REPORT into local bus services has found they provide a poor service for high fares.
The Competition Commission’s findings has outlined measures to improve bus services, including having to accept multi-operator ticket schemes.
Paul Maynard, MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys, welcomed the report on the industry.
He said: “I urge local transport decision makers to make more rapid progress still on ensuring that all-day and multi-day tickets are valid on all local bus companies.
“Nothing frustrates visitors more than finding Stagecoach won’t accept Blackpool Transport tickets, especially on routes between Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Blackpool.”
Despite the body vowing to make changes, Mr Maynard has called for more changes to be made.
A spokesman for the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT), which represents Blackpool Transport, said: “There is always room for improvement and we will now have a closer look at the changes suggested.”
