Attendees were welcomed by Community and Pubs Minister Andrew Percy MP, who congratulated the employers who were embracing the apprentice scheme.

He said: “Well done to you for taking on apprenticeships in this vibrant industry.

“This industry offers a range of brilliant jobs which contribute to the UK economy.

“It’s a good industry to get into and to make a career in.”

Ian Payne, Chairman of Stonegate Pub Company that owns the Manchester, said: “In 2016, one in eight of all the new jobs in the UK were created in this industry.”
