AS Fleetwood youngster Molly Robinson continues to undergo treatment for cancer in the USA, another big fundraiser is set to be staged for her family.

The event is taking place at Fleetwood Gas Workers Club (The Tank), on Preston Street, on Friday October 28 at 7pm, featuring live bands, karaoke and a giant raffle.

Tony Greenway, who runs the club with wife Janet, said: “Members of Molly’s family have approached us and we are only too happy to help. In addition to money raised from donations and the raffle, we will be donating 10 per cent of the bar takings on the night.”

Molly is still undergoing specialist proton beam therapy in Oklahoma City, USA, in a bid to reduce a tumour on her face to enable it to be removed.

Fleetwood folk have helped raise thousands to cover the family’s costs in America, and two local men, Declan Bradley and Graham Thompson (pictured), were among the latest to help, having raised more than £1,000 after taking part in the recent Fleetwood Half Marathon.

Molly’s nan, Sandra Robinson, told the Weekly News: “Molly’s been very brave. Local people have been great.”
