Fleetwood’s movers and shakers are to work more closely together for the good of the town.

In a scheme being officially launched this week, the Team Fleetwood initiative will see representatives from various groups get together at special sessions led by Fleetwood Town Council.

Team Fleetwood will be launched this Tuesday, March 22, at 7pm in the Rossall room at the North Euston Hotel. The group will look at retail, tourism, events, housing and jobs and even attempt to tackle anti-social behaviour, working closely with the local police.

After the launch Team Fleetwood will then priorities issues affecting Fleetwood, and function as a working party for Fleetwood Town Council.

Coun Mike Barrowclough, vice chairman of Fleetwood Town Council, said: “Team Fleetwood is a much anticipated forum which I hope will bring to the fore aspirations that many of Fleetwood’s key stake‐holders may have. It will encourage discussion and ideas which can then be developed and progressed into a reality to make Fleetwood a better place for all.

“The term Team Fleetwood formalises an already diverse group which have played a major part in bringing

about the Mount Crest, Fleetwood’s skate bowl and the town’s 175th anniversary celebrations.

“These are just a few examples of what the team are capable of achieving.

“Our larger collective aspires to bring new business ideas, create employment, improve our

environment and generally make our town of Fleetwood a better place for all.”
