TIME is running out to nominate your local heroes!

In conjunction with Wyre Council, The Weekly News wants to find residents who take pride in their community.

Let us know your heroes, groups or societies – and they could be in line for some great prizes! Our best entrants will pick up a commemorative silver salver PLUS they will enjoy an overnight stay in a top Manchester hotel and there are also high street shopping vouchers up for grabs.

Our campaign is being launched to encourage residents and businesses to be more positive about the place they call home.

A week of activity is planned in July when Wyre Council will be concentrating efforts on improving things that bring Fleetwood down, working with other organisations where necessary.

So tell us who is your local hero. E-mail us at nwcompetitions@jpress.co.uk, or write to Community Champions, Fleetwood Weekly News, 168 Lord Street, Fleetwood FY7 6SR, and tell us why you feel they deserve to be rewarded. Don’t forget to add your name and contact details. Nominations close on Monday, June 27. The prize consists of a night’s bed and breakfast, dinner for two at either the Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel or the Renaissance Manchester Hotel. The prize can be taken any time between July 22 and August 31.

Readers can also take advantage of a special promotion. For 40 nights from July 22 to August 31, the Renaissance Manchester Hotel is offering 40 rooms for just £40 a night.
