A gas worker escaped major harm after hitting a popular restaurant in Thornton.
The emergency services were called to Twelve Restaurant and Wine Bar, at Marsh Mill on Fleetwood Road, shortly after 4pm yesterday to reports a white Citroen Relay van had smashed into the side of it.
Police officers remained at the scene until the early hours of this morning, while engineers were drafted in amid fears the building was unsafe, police said.
Pictures taken at the scene show a van from Gas World in Dorset Avenue, Cleveleys, surrounded by police tape with a trail of debris in its wake.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said no arrests have been made and the incident was being treated as ‘damage only’.
The restaurant last week announced it had been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the 2016 Michelin Award for the 12th year running.
