Man denies causing death crash
.
A MAN has appeared in court following a road crash in which a retired teacher died.
Wendy Hartley, 63, died after the Citroen car she was travelling in was involved in a collision with a Suzuki 4x4 being driven by Roy Holden.
And yesterday Holden, 58, of Argyle Avenue, Poulton, appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court charged with causing Mrs Hartley’s death by driving without insurance.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Mrs Hartley, from Cabus, died the day after the crash on Blackpool Road, St Michaels, in February.
The retired teacher, who worked across Garstang and Preston, was described by her family as a “much-loved” wife, daughter, mother and grandmother who would be “greatly missed”.
Holden appeared before district judge Jeff Brailsford at the court, and had his case adjourned until October 3.
