A family festival will help develop Fleetwood when a series of projects are launched later this month.

The Dizzy Heights outdoor festival will include hot air balloon rides, zip wires and a world record high dive attempt when it takes place at the Marine Hall Gardens on May 24.

The event runs from noon to 5pm and is part of the Five for Fleetwood scheme, which consists of five projects set to benefit the town, including the development of the Promenade and Marine Lake.

Speaking when the scheme was launched, Wyre Council leader Coun Peter Gibson said: “Things are falling into place for this gem of a seaside town and we can complete the vision we started in the Fleetwood Seafront Masterplan.”
