A Fleetwood campaign which raises money for Meningitis UK has topped £24,000.

Callum’s Crusade fund-raises for the charity in memory of port youngster Callum Towne who
tragically died from the
disease at just six-weeks- old.

The group’s supporters held their latest fund-raiser when they took part in the annual Hambleton fun run at the Shovels pub raising £500 between them.

Callum’s mum Emma McElhinney said: “I just wanted to say a big thank-you to the team of people who took part with us.

“There was about 20 of us, including some little ones this year which was lovely.

“We had a great day and despite the weather we will have raised £500 which will take our total to more than £24,000.”
