It’s no wonder these new parents are all smiles – because their new born bundle of joy may well be one in a million.

Little Miles Bullen waited for the perfect moment to be born – 9.10am on Tuesday (11/12/13) – creating an amazing sequence of numbers.

Add to that his birth weight – eight pounds, of course – and already baby Miles is something truly special.

He shocked staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital with his timely appearance. And proud parents Kim Webster and John Bullen, from Hambleton, said they are still shocked by the amazing coincidence.

John, 40, said: “It was just after he was born that it clicked to us all. The midwife pointed it out and we were all pretty amazed to be honest.

“We always knew he was going to be born on December 11 so we had got out heads around that but to weigh eight pounds and be born at 9.10am was something special.”

Mum Kim, 35, who works alongside John at HMRC in Blackpool, added: “He’s a little star already.”

She went on to praise the staff at the new Midwife Led Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

She said: “The treatment we have had here has been top class.

“The facilities in the new unit are amazing and the staff have been great.

“It’s all added up to it being a special day for us.”

Miles will soon be going home to meet up with his sister Gabrielle, seven.

December 11 has been a celebrated date around the globe as it’s the last time there will be a consecutive date for 90 years.

Sequential days are extremely rare, there being just a handful of them a century.

Thousands of couples were tied the knot on Wednesday, and in California retired teacher Ron Gordon was offering $1,112.13 to whoever thought of the most original way of commemorating the unique day, which he called ‘noughts and crosses’ day.
