Come clean on hospital

My week in Westminster by Fleetwood MP Eric Ollerenshaw
My week in Westminster by Fleetwood MP Eric Ollerenshaw

This week, I have joined with Fleetwood Town Council in calling for a public meeting about the future of Rossall Hospital Rehabilitation Unit.

Rossall Hospital, currently has 40 beds and provides rehabilitation, recuperation and continuing care for patients from patients across Wyre, Blackpool and Fylde.

I have already met with representatives from Fleetwood Town Council and agree with them that we need clarification from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of approximately 330,000 residents and also the 12 million holidaymakers who visit the area every year.

It is responsible for running a number of facilities across the Fylde coast, including Blackpool Victoria, as well as Rossall.

I am due to meet with the chief executive of the Trust, to discuss my concerns and to hopefully gain clarification from him what plans, if any there are for the hospital.

It is also vital that any consultation is carried out properly, and gives everyone who has an interest in this facility, the opportunity to have their say on its future.

As always please contact me if I can be of any help.

I represent everyone that lives in the Lancaster & Fleetwood constituency, regardless of how or whether you vote.
