FOLLOWING a three-month public consultation exercise which saw over 11,000 people expressing views about our police stations and public counters a final decision has now been agreed.

Fleetwood will remain an operational station 24 hours a day and will continue to be the main hub within Wyre. Cleveleys station will close during 2012 and although Poulton station will also close, efforts are being made to find alternative premises for a public enquiry counter.

The Constabulary will now be closing 14 across the county. Thank you to all who expressed their opinions on the proposals.

Halloween and bonfire night festivities passed off without any significant incidents and I’d like to congratulate all those organisations who worked tirelessly to provide quality bonfire and firework displays for their communities.

At this time of year, the town centres are busy with festive shoppers and therefore there are increased opportunities for thieves to target people and steal bags and purses – don’t give them that opportunity.

Also, keep your house secure at all times.

Don’t leave items out in the garden and lock your sheds and garages too.
