A rising Blackpool golf star is teeing off to hit the big time.
Jack Clarkson, 17, was on top form in an international schools’ golf match, playing, and winning, for the England national team against rivals Scotland.
The teenager, from Hambleton, won his match three and two against his opponent at West Kilbride golf course last week.
Now he is looking forward to a busy golf schedule, playing in the Fylde Amateur Competition and the North of England Amateur Championships, hoping to qualify for the 2014 British Open at the Royal Liverpool golf course.
He is also juggling the sport with studying at Blackpool Sixth Form, hoping his grades in A Level maths, PE and psychology will earn him a golf scholarship in America next year.
He said: “I would love to move to California or Florida where I could study and play in the university teams.”
