Captain Cod opens nursery’s new premises

Fleetwood Football Club’s mascot dropped in to see an excited group of pre-school children to celebrate the opening of Busy Bees new premises in Poulton Road.

Captain Cod did penalty shootouts with the children, joined them with some of their activities and gave out plenty of high fives for their new nursery.

Busy Bees proprietor Jane McNair said: “It was a really good day and it went very well.

“The children were really excited to meet Captain Cod and thoroughly enjoyed the penalty shoot outs, they were so excited.”

Captain Cod officially cut the ribbon to open the new premises to a stream of parents and visitors keen to take part in the open afternoon.

Busy Bees moved into their new home at the former McKee Centre in Poulton Road two weeks ago after they were forced to leave their premises at Mount Methodist Church when it closed at the end of 2013.

The pre-school had operated there for more than 20 years and the search for a new place was certainly no easy ride.

Eventually though, after much negotiation, the premises were secured.

The children are now looking forward to regular football sessions at Busy Bees to learn basic football techniques and play games.
