Comedy duo Cannon and Ball will be braving new heights as they take on The Big One Abseil at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, to raise money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity; the National Charity of the British Army.

Every year, daring individuals take on the 235-foot descent from The Big One, raising thousands of pounds for soldiers, veterans and their families in the process.

We’re both really excited to be taking on The Big One!

Cannon and Ball will topping the bill for this year’s abseil, and will be joined by many other dare-devils, including Rick Clement, who lost both legs whilst serving with the Duke of Lancashire Regiment in Afghanistan.

Bobby Ball said: “We’re both really excited to be taking on The Big One! We were privileged to be part of the opening ceremony for it in 1994, yet we never thought that one day we would be abseiling off it. It’s 235ft all the way down but if it does something to help all those soldiers and veterans who have done so much for us then we’ll brave it!”

Martin Rutledge, chief executive of The Soldiers’ Charity said: “Cannon and Ball have been top of the bill many places throughout their career, but I’m sure none will have been higher than this. The Charity is very grateful to them both.”
