A Fleetwood robber who broke his victim’s wrist has been jailed for two and a half years.
Christopher Evans, 20, from Borrowdale Avenue, Fleetwood, followed up the attack by stealing his victim’s bicycle after a night of drinking.
Evans saw the 19-year-old initially fall off his bicycle in Lord Street, Fleetwood, as he cycled to work at a local bakery in the early hours of March 5 last year. While the victim repaired his chain, Evans approached him and began to shout abuse at him. When the cyclist got back on his bike, Evans punched him, knocking him to the floor which left his victim with a broken wrist.
Evans then took the man’s bike and rode off. Evans appeared at Preston Crown Court on Friday for sentence and was jailed for two-and-a-half years for the unprovoked attack.
Det Con Steve Montgomery, of Wyre CID, said “The sentence given to Evans reflects his lack of compassion and his violent behaviour.”
