A school IT technician suffered from road rage on the way back from a motorcycle trip to Devil’s Bridge.

Jordan McGarry said a motorist had pulled out suddenly almost causing him to crash so he punched out at the car.

McGarry, 19, of Waring Drive, Thornton, an apprentice IT technician at St Marys High School, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to causing damage.

He was given a 12 months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation with £85 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said a witness said McGarry was riding a motorbike on Bispham Road, Poulton on July 21 about 3pm.

McGarry was tailgating a Ford Focus and as the driver waited to turn he pulled up, hurled abuse and punched at the rear of the car denting a panel.
