Police are appealing for help to identify this man after he stole goods from a Cleveleys shop.

Officers said the man was wearing a beige jacket and stole several bottles of perfume and aftershave from Boots on Victoria Road West.

The man is accused of distracting the shop assistant before placing the items inside his jacket before leaving the store without paying.

The incident took place on October 21.

Officers said the shop assistant only realised what had happened when he left.

Police have joined forces with The Gazette to try to reduce the number of shoplifting incidents on the Fylde coast.

A Lancashire Police spokesman, said: “Shoplifting costs the retail industry thousands of pounds of each.

“Lancashire Police treat shoplifting as a serious problem and it should no longer be seen as an easy way to commit crime.

“I appeal for anyone who may recognise the man to come forward and contact police.

“Shoplifting will not be tolerated.“

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
