A man walked into his former girlfriend’s home to confront his love rival, Blackpool Magistrates heard.

Michael Clifford, 35. found his ex in a state of undress.

This enraged Clifford who had been planning to get back with her after seeing her just two days before.

He saw her new love, a 24-year-old man, lying on the couch and then “flipped” accrording to his lawyer Gerry Coyle.

Builder Clifford kicked his victim in the face and then punched him.

During the melee a lap top worth £150 was damaged.

Clifford, of Agnew Road, Fleetwood, admitted criminal damage to the computer and admitted assault.

Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said that the woman called the police after Clifford assaulted his victim who suffered a cut lip and eye.

Mr Coyle said: “My client admits that drink had taken a part in what happened.He is very remorseful and feels this was a blip.

Magistrates ordered probation reports on Clifford who
will be sentenced on April 14.
