Police in Fleetwood are appealing to the public for information after an intruder carried out a terrifying early-hours burglary at the home of an elderly man.
The suspect broke into the house and then scared the victim into handing over his wallet before leaving with a laptop and cash cards.
It left the householder, who is in his seventies, badly shaken but unhurt.
The incident occurred at a house on Oxford Road, Fleetwood, at around 4am on Sunday June 9.
Officers hope someone may have seen something which can help with the inquiry.
Det Sgt Kathryn Riley, of Fleetwood CID, said: “This was a very traumatic offence for an elderly man who was woken up in the middle of the night by an intruder in his home.
“We are appealing to the public to contact us if they saw anyone acting suspiciously at around 4am on Sunday June 9, in the Oxford Road, Poulton Road or Darbishire Road areas,”
Once the burglar had left the house, the pensioner flagged down a member of the public and the police were called.
