Gran drove while over the drink drive limit

A grandmother drove while over the limit.

Pauline Teague was stopped by a police patrol who had received a tip-off she was drink-driving.

Teague, a 69-year-old former NHS worker, of Thornhill Avenue, Preesall, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

She was banned for 12 months, fined £200 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £20 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Jeff Brailsford at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor, Jim Mowbray, said police received information that a woman driving a Renault Megane had been drinking on March 25 at 9.30pm.

They saw Teague driving the car on Back Sands Lane, Pilling, and stopped her. She said se had drunk a glass of wine. A blood test showed 133 milligrammes of alcohol in her body – 80 is the limit.
