A FLEETWOOD man has been found guilty of a child sex charge after a four-day trial.
Christopher Garrett, 46, of Lower Lune Street, Fleetwood, faced Preston Crown Court last week on two charges of causing or inciting a male child under 16 years to engage in sexual activity. Garrett denied both charges.
On Friday the jury found Garrett not guilty of one of the charges, but guilty on the second. The offences were said to date from July 30 2007 to August 26 2009.
Garret will appear for sentence on April 1 at Preston.
The defendant is well known in Fleetwood as a former player for several Sunday league sides, and has also been involved in coaching.
He was conditionally bailed by Her Honour Judge Heather Lloyd.
