Cemetery upkeep branded a ‘disgrace’

A ROW has erupted over the upkeep of loved ones’ graves at Fleetwood Cemetery.

Wyre Council has defended the upkeep and appearance of Fleetwood Cemetery after a complaint from a member of the public.

Valerie Johnson, 68, of Kenilworth Court, Fleetwood, says the grass besides family graves is often left to grow long, with weeds shooting up alongside cherished gravestones.

Mrs Jones says the length of time before the grass is mowed and lack of attention to weeds spoils the diligent work of families tending to the graves.
