Casualty taken to hospital after kitchen fire in Thornton

A casualty has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a kitchen in Thornton yesterday (Sunday, December 20).

Firefighters from Fleetwood and Bispham tackled the kitchen fire at a home in Linden Avenue at around 3pm.

Fire crews said the kitchen was well alight when they arrived at the scene, with firefighters extinguishing the flames using a hose reel and breathing apparatus.

One casualty was taken to hospital for checks after suffering from smoke inhalation.
