Dealing with issues face to face matters

My week in Westminster by Eric Ollerenshaw
My week in Westminster by Eric Ollerenshaw

As an MP I get hundreds of letters and emails from different organisations and lobby groups, but I still find that nothing beats meeting people and businesses face to face to find out what issues are important to them.

Last week I spent a couple of hours at Boris Net, a local family business, based in Fleetwood on Copse Road to find out what problems they are facing and if there is anything else the Government should be doing to help.

The company has been going since 1958 and produces just about every kind of net and netting product that you can think of, it was a really useful experience and I will certainly be staying in touch.

I was also pleased to hear Wyre Borough Council confirm that work on the transformation of the seafront and Marine Gardens is progressing well. The plan to take the grounds back to the venue’s heyday of the 1930s includes new landscaping and features, including a dramatic outdoor performance area. It will hopefully encourage more locals and visitors to enjoy our town’s beautiful seafront, as well as the spectacular views.

As always, please contact me if there is ever anything I can do to help. I represent everyone who lives in the Lancaster & Fleetwood constituency regardless of how you vote or whether you vote.
