The tram, situated on the promenade opposite the Pleasure Beach, South Shore, has been restored to its original glory.

The vehicle is significant to enthusiasts as it was the last tram in the resort to travel along the former Dickson Road line to North station.

Colin Macleod, a member of Fleetwood Heritage Leisure Trust, has been painting the tram over the last week, having originally redone it with a group of inmates from Kirkham Prison, as part of an arts project last summer.

He said: “We’re doing it up and cleaning it up to make it look presentable for the summer season. It’s done in the traditional colours of cream and green for Blackpool Transport. It does attract a lot of attention and hundreds ofpeople comment on it.”

The tram is set to go into storage in August, when a tram done out by the Blackpool FC Supporters Trust will take its place.
