Arrest following soccer club raid
POLICE have arrested a man in connection with a burglary at Fleetwood Town FC in which two safes and a television were taken.
Detectives say the 41-year-old suspect, who was being interviewed at Blackpool Police Station yesterday, is from Fleetwood.
And officers are currently hunting four other suspects believed to have been involved in the break-in.
Detectives said the men used an angle grinder, crowbar and hammer to gain access through a perimeter gate next to Memorial Park and searched a number of rooms before leaving with the safes and 42-inch LG television, some time between 8pm on Saturday and 8am Sunday.
The officer leading the investigation has appealed to Fleetwood people to come forward with any information they may have.
Det Insp Phil Jones said: “We have a number of lines of enquiry and comprehensive CCTV images to review.”
