Fleetwood Beer Festival date set

MAKE a note on the calendar for the Fleetwood Beer and Cider Festival.
The event takes place at the Marine Hall on February 7, 8 and 9.
Organised by the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde branch of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale), the event has been shadowed over the last couple of years by fears over its future.
But the organisers say they have come to arrangement with Wyre Council over the cost of the Marine Hall hire charges, and the event is in fine fettle.
Publicity Officer Russell Cobb said rumours of “30 and out” for this popular event have proved to be premature.
He added: “The staff will be in the hall pulling pints for themselves – they may as well pull some for paying punters while they’re at it.”
Around 120 real ales, ciders and perries will be on offer over the three days.
As usual, the beer list contains a good selection of bitters, IPAs, stouts, porters, golden ales, with new breweries being showcased alongside the old favourites.
