THE police are asking for help after a motorist was assaulted.
The driver was attacked by a teenager he believed was vandalising his car.

The 46-year-old approached a gang outside his home on Lostock Gardens, South Shore, and was punched in the face after asking them what they were doing near his vehicle.

Police are looking for witnesses to the attack which took place at around 3.30am on Saturday.

Detectives want to speak to a 17 or 18-year-old man described as white, slim build, around 5ft 6in, wearing dark trousers, a black and white striped top and a baseball cap.

Another member of the gang – including four 17 or 18-year-olds – was described as being of a similar age, white, around 5ft 8in.

Another was a white woman with long dark hair and a short skirt.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident can contact Blackpool Police on (01253) 293933 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
