THE weight is over!
Fylde Coast YMCA fitness experts took to the streets of Fleetwood in a bid to get locals thinking fit and feeling fitter.

They visited shops, offices and other businesses throughout the town centre testing participants’ fitness levels using the la
test measurement apparatus.

The team also directed them to the new programme of fitness classes at the YMCA Lofthouse Building on London Street.

Bev Lucas, Wyre YMCA Housing Director and Manager of the YMCA Lofthouse Building, said: “We are excited about the new programme of classes.

“Not only are we offering a diverse range of classes for all levels of fitness but we have also taken childcare into account as we understand it is often a barrier to fitness for parents in the daytime.”

Alongside the fitness classes, new creative sessions have also been launched.

These sessions, also at the venue on London Street, offer creative writing for beginners, musical theatre for ages 8–13 years and devising theatre for adults aged 25 plus who have an interest in aspects of the theatre including performing, writing, directing and stage management.

The successful Lottery Funded ‘Count Me In’ project, for local 13–19 year olds, is held on Mondays and Wednesdays and offers art and design, DJ, MC, sound mixing and dance.

n For more details about the whole programme of activities contact The Lofthouse Building on (01253) 872320.
