PREPARATION work started this week on the cutting up of the stranded ferry Riverdance on Anchorsholme Beach, Cleveleys.
Demolition crews have moved on to the site to begin the work of dismantling the 6,000-tonne vessel.
Riverdance first became stranded on the beach in stormy weather on Thursday January 31 after being hit by a huge wave.
A rescue mission, which included Fleetwood Lifeboat, managed to get the crew to safety but the Sea Truck ferry has been stuck on the beach ever since.
Efforts to refloat her have failed.
As the process to cut the vessel begins, members of the public have been warned to stay off the beach for their own safety.
Large cranes and cutting equipment are now on the site.
