THE Steamer Pub in Fleetwood is staging a fundraising event for a new charity.
An evening of live music and fun activities at the Dock Street pub on Saturday will raise money for the Butterfly Group, which is dedicated to care for all those with immune, auto immune and chronic disorders.

The charity has been set up by Blackpool woman Christina Lukacs, who suffers from such an illness, systemic lupus erythematosus, in which patients have thick blood which can cause potentially fatal blockage of arteries.

Cliff and Shirley Beech, landlords at the Steamer, are keen to help the charity.

Cliff said: "I really did not know anything about the illnesses until the charity director, Christina, became ill from a host of auto immune disorders and I saw how they affected her.

"We are delighted to help this worthwhile group who are going to create a lot of awareness and support for a big group of disorders and for those suffering from them".

Providing the music on the night are local folk rock band Captain Cooper's Motley Crew, who take to the stage at around 9.30pm.
