Pastor Williams has not only got a new church and a new home but is celebrating following the birth of his third child, Zechariah who is just ten days old!
"Zechariah will be attending his first Sunday service this week" said Pastor Williams who has moved to the town with his wife Zoe, originally from Bury, and their two other children Dylan aged 10 and younger sister Padme aged 5.
"It was such a blessing to be called to Fleetwood, following an invitation to preach a sermon at the church I was later offered the job and I believe it is a call from God".
Pastor Williams, who is originally from Oldham, was previously working in North Manchester when he was offered the post at St Paul's and has immediately set about making a number of changes to the Church "We have set up anew prayer meeting and we have introduced a new 6pm Sunday service to encourage more people to attend. It is joy to share in the fellowship of so many believers".
One of the new measures Pastor Williams has taken is to set up his own website at www.puritanfellowship.com "We are reaching across twenty seven different countries and attracted up to 1000 people a day to the site who can listen and watch the St Pauls sermons over the internet. We even had a postcard arrive all the way from Canada wishing us all well in our new venture in Fleetwood with a $50 gold coin attached!"
Pastor Kevin acknowledges that are issues within the town that need addressing "There are a lot of challenges ahead of me in Fleetwood and everything that I do within the community must have its foundation within the Gospel. Through my sermons I want to challenge my congregation and strengthen their faith".
Not only are the Williams family settling into a church, they are adjusting to a new home "Dylan and Padme love it when they are able to take the dog for a walk along the beach. Fleetwood is a place where everyone knows each other with a laid back atmosphere and I know I am going to enjoy it here!"
Pastor Williams preaches at St Paul's Church, Darbishire Road, Sundays at 11am and 6pm.
