A FICTIONAL dog and a caravan holiday have helped net £400 towards this year's Christmas lights in Fleetwood.
Fleetwood Festive Lights Committee's prize draw offering a Haven Holiday break was drawn by 'Frog the Dog' and his author Helen McGlasson of Fleetwood.

Committee secretary Malcolm Ratcliffe presented the holiday details to happy prize winner Mrs Maureen Coxall of Ullswater Avenue, Fleetwood.

Mrs Coxall said: “I love Fleetwood and the people of Fleetwood, they all help one another.”

Malcolm thanked the author and Mrs Coxall for supporting the lights fund and added: “Everyone who bought a ticket has helped ensure that our town has a good lights display this Christmas.”

Last year the committee managed to break even on the town’s £16,000 display - raising £13,000 to add to the £3,000 provided by Wyre Council.

The group hope to equal that sum this year, at the very least, and their next moneyspinner is a psychic night featuring psychic Annett Barnes.

It takes place at the King’s Own Old Comrades’ Club, Adelaide Street, on Friday May 30, starting at 7.30pm.

The event is ticket-only and the tickets, costing £3, can be obtained by phoning (01253) 876931.
